About Our Vinyl Record Player

What’s the difference between a "turntable" and a "vinyl record player"?
A turntable refers only to the rotating platter + tonearm (needs external speakers/amps to play sound). A vinyl record player is an all-in-one device: it includes a turntable, built-in amplifier, and speakers, so you can use it right out of the box.
Do I need additional equipment to use a vinyl record player?
It depends on the type:
  • All-in-one vinyl players: No extra gear—just plug in power, place a record, and play.
  • Standalone turntables: Yes, you’ll need external speakers and a phono preamp (some turntables have a built-in preamp, which skips this step).
How do I properly care for my vinyl records to make them last?
  • Store records vertically (never stack horizontally) to avoid warping.
  • Clean records before/after use with a carbon fiber brush to remove dust.
  • Avoid touching the grooved surface (hold records by the edges or label only).
  • Keep records in a cool, dry place (away from direct sunlight or humidity).
Why does my vinyl record sound scratchy, and how can I fix it?
Common causes & solutions:
  • Dirty stylus (needle): Gently clean it with a stylus brush or specialized cleaning gel.
  • Dust/debris on the record: Wipe with a record-cleaning cloth or use a wet-cleaning kit for tough grime.
  • Misaligned tonearm: Adjust the tonearm’s tracking force (follow your player’s manual) to avoid excess pressure on the record.
Can vinyl record players play all record sizes (7”, 10”, 12”)?
Most modern players support 7”, 10”, and 12” records—they usually have a adjustable platter mat or a size selector switch. Check the product specs first; some compact all-in-one players may only support 10” and 12” by default.
How often should I replace the stylus (needle) of my turntable?
With regular use (1–2 hours/day), replace the stylus every 800–1,000 hours (about 1–2 years). Signs it’s time to replace: distorted sound, skipping tracks, or visible wear on the needle tip.
